About Us

Biomass Gas & Electric (BG&E) is the leading biomass renewable energy company in The United States.  We develop gas and electric plants utilizing renewable and environmentally beneficial conversion processes.  BG&E can generate a clean medium Btu gas that can be substituted directly for natural gas in most applications including gas turbines, direct pipeline use and fuel cells.  BG&E can also generate heat and steam in state of the art advanced fluid bed boilers.  With the inevitability of a National Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) there will a tremendous demand for our product.  In advance of this, we are setting the standard and charting the path for the entire Biomass Renewable Sector.

We produce electricity in our plants that is entirely carbon neutral.  We make "green" power, unlike other companies that burn garbage and call it "renewable energy".  From fluid bed boilers to the most advanced gasification techniques that do not involve combustion but convert the biomass to a natural synthetic gas in an oxygen free superheated gasification chamber, BG&E is an industry leader. Biomass feedstock's are typically organic waste materials (pulp and paper residue, agricultural wastes such as chicken litter and manure, refuse derived fuel (RDF) from the organic components of municipal solid waste (MSW), construction and demolition debris, wood waste, and energy crops). We do not emit more carbon into the atmosphere than the eco-system can absorb.  It is entirely life-cycle friendly.

Our management has close to 100 years of experience in the renewable energy and energy fields.  BG&E's expertise extends through engineering, construction, energy trading, finance and an overall understanding of the renewable marketplace.  We employ all of these advantages when building and engineering new projects.  We are not tied to any specific technology or process, we adjust and adapt to each specific challenge.  We never try to fit the proverbial square peg in a round hole.  Therefore we have the flexibility to be both the appropriate and economically feasible choice for our various partners.

BG&E produces electricity for utility companies, municipalities and business operations. BG&E is currently building three facilities, two in Florida and one in Georgia. Biomass electricity production for just these three projects is expected to avoid burning more than 12 million tons of coal.

BG&E's goals for the future include construction and development of numerous additional plants already in discussion throughout The United States and expansion overseas.  As always, we will strive to conduct business profitably and ethically as we continue to grow.  Through our leadership in the industry we hope to preserve and protect the environment for this and countless future generations.
